I was going through the Q4 result of different firms to identify how US slowdown impacting their bottom-line. What I got, is a confused scenario across different industry segment. Let’s have a look

 

  • Google posted a 30% jump in revenues.
  • Technology services companies in India are able to beat analyst expectation.
  • IBM has posted an impressive result few days back.
  • On the other hand chip maker AMD posted a six straight quarterly loss due to increase price-war with arch rival Intel.
  • Banking firms are bleeding excessively. .Merrill Lynch posted big loss, cutting 2,900 jobs

 

I believe analysts and market researchers hyped the recession phenomenon in Technology sectors. Market analysts maintained a negative expectation for technology firms for Q4 citing US recession. But whether we are in recession or not Tech firms were able to sail through, at least for this Quarter
